गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री विजय रुपाणी ने कांग्रेस के करीबी इतिहासकार रामचंद्र गुहा को ट्विटर कर तगड़ी लताड़ लगाई है। रामचंद्र गुहा ने ट्विटर पर बंगाल और गुजरात को लेकर एक विभाजनकारी पोस्ट डाली है। गुहा ने ब्रिटिश लेखक फिलिप स्प्राट की 1939 की एक टिप्पणी का जिक्र करते हुए कहा है कि हालांकि गुजरात आर्थिक रूप से काफी सम्पन्न है लेकिन सांस्कृतिक रूप से एक पिछड़ा राज्य है, जबकि इसके उलट बंगाल आर्थिक रूप से काफी कमजोर होने के बाद भी सांस्कृतिक रूप से काफी उन्नत है। रामचंद्र गुहा के इस ट्वीट पर गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री विजय रुपाणी ने आपत्ति जताते हुए कड़ी फटकार लगाई। सीएम रुपाणी ने गुहा को अंग्रेजों की तरह विभाजनकारी करार दिया।
विजय रुपाणी ने लिखा कि पहले अंग्रेज थे, जिन्होंने फूट डालकर शासन करने की कोशिश की थी। अब इन बुद्धिजीवियों का एक ग्रुप है जो भारतीयों को बांटना चाहता है। भारतीयों को इनकी चालों में नहीं फंसना चाहिए। गुजरात महान है, बंगाल महान है। भारत एक है। हमारी सांस्कृतिक नींव मजबूत है और हमारी आर्थिक आकांक्षाएं बहुत अधिक हैं।’
Earlier it was the British who tried to divide and rule. Now it is a group of elites who want to divide Indians.
