गुजरात विधानसभा चुनाव में अंतिम चरण के मतदान से पहले प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने रविवार को चार चुनावी रैलियों को संबोधित किया। पालनपुर, साणंद, कालोल और वडोदरा की चुनावी सभाओं में प्रधानमंत्री का भाषण सुनने के लिए भारी संख्या में लोग आए थे। पालनपुर में अपनी पहली चुनावी सभा में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि बीजेपी हमेशा विकास की बात करती है, और विकास के जरिए ही देश को आगे बढ़ाया जा सकता है, विकास से सभी समस्याओं को खत्म किया जा सकता है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि बीजेपी का मंत्र है शांति, एकता और सदभावना। इसी मंत्र के जरिए बीजेपी की सरकार ने गुजरात को विकास की ऊंचाइयों पर पहुंचाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि जिस समाज में एकता और सदभाव होता है, वही अच्छे से विकास कर पाता है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि कांग्रेस हमेशा जातिवाद और बंटवारे की राजनीति करती आई है और गुजरात में भी कांग्रेस यही कर रही है।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने रैली में आई जनता से कहा कि कांग्रेस के नेता मणिशंकर अय्यर ने उन्हें गाली देकर गुजरात के लोगों का अपमान किया है, और राज्य की जनता इसका बदला जरूर लेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि गुजरात चुनाव से पहले मणिशंकर अय्यर ने पाकिस्तान के उच्चायुक्त के साथ गोपनीय मीटिंग की थी, इस बैठक का मकसद क्या था? पाकिस्तान के मिलिट्री इंटेलिजेंस में उच्च पदों पर रह चुके लोग क्यों लिख रहे हैं कि अहमद पटेल को गुजरात का मुख्यमंत्री बनाने के लिए मदद करनी चाहिए।
